Healthy Eating Week (12th-16th June) is all about supporting and promoting healthier lifestyles. Educating children about healthy eating is not always the most fun lesson and they can be resistant. So we have compiled together some activity ideas to make learning about healthy eating and a healthy lifetsyle fun!
Healthy Foods Bingo
Ever child loves a bit of bingo! Why not create or find a bingo sheet of healhy foods. This could be a great way o inroduce some new foods they might not of heard of.
Pancake Faces
This combines a little sweet with your fruit, why not create some fun faces on pancakes with your fruit. There are so many examples online for them to follow, or you can let them create their own! You can make a great sun with some strawberries and blueberries!
Sorting Food Groups
Learning food groups can be tricky, make a ame out of sorting food in to food groups. You could even ask them to create a balanced plate of food using their food groups.
Visit a farm or a market
If possible, arrange a visit to a farm or a market where the children can explore where food come from. You can plan different activties depending on where you visit.
You can do these activities and so many more to expore the topic of healthy eating in a fun and exciting way!
